Because "one size doesn't fit all," a one day conference, "Turning Points," offers women information on a wide array of health issues -- from holistic health, to breast care, and new techniques addressing gynecological problems.

Sponsored by Oakwood Healthcare System in partnership with WXYZ-TV/Channel 7, Wyeth and Oakwood's Women's Healthcare Classic, "Turning Points" will take place Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Dearborn Inn. Keynote speaker is Janet Werbinski, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist at Bronson Healthcare and Founding President of the American College of Women's Health Physicians.

The day begins at 8 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast, followed by the keynote address and then three break out sessions and group luncheon.

Break out sessions include:

"Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis for the aging woman," presented by Eric Silberg, M.D., Oakwood orthopedist.

"Breast Cancer Detection: Myths and Realities," with presenter Sharon Helmer, M.D., director of Oakwood's Breast Care Center.

"Urogynecology/Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery," presented by Salil S. Khandwala, M.D., Oakwood obstetrician/gynecologist and Kathy Koches, Oakwood, R.N.

"Holistic Perspectives and the Changing Needs of Women Throughout the Aging Process," presented by Clinton Greenstone, M.D., internist and director of Oakwood's Center for Holistic and Alternative Medicine.

"Women's Health -- A Family Doctor's Perspective," presented by Oakwood family practitioner Jane Kramar, M.D.

"Update on New Technologies in Gynecology and Alternatives to Hysterectomy," presented by Charles Cash, M.D. Oakwood obstetrician/gynecologist.

The cost of the program is $45 and includes an informational packet, continental breakfast, keynote speaker presentation, luncheon, informational exhibits and three workshops of the registrant's choice.
