At The National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals New Jersey Chapter Annual Awards Gala, Charles Klatskin was bestowed with the distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Klatskin is recognized as one of the pioneers of the commercial real estate industry in which he began in 1959. He is currently Chairman and CEO of Binswanger/Klatskin, a leading real estate services firm, and Partner at Forsgate Industrial Complex, a premiere industrial development company.

Charles Klatskin began his journey in the real estate industry when he received his BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959, and became the first candidate to complete a major in Industrial Real Estate. He began his initial training in the field with Brown, Harris, Stevens, Inc. in New York City, and served as Manager of the New Jersey Industrial Division. In 1962 Klatskin became the youngest member ever admitted into the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He capitalized on this experience by founding The Charles Klatskin Company, Inc. in 1966 in East Rutherford, New Jersey and has successfully offered brokerage and development services through the same company for several decades. The company's successful results with industrial development of the Meadowlands prompted industry watchers to dub the region "Klatskin Country". He continued realizing his vision for New Jersey real estate in 1974 by co-founding with Norman Seiden t he 500-acre Forsgate Industrial Complex in South Brunswick, New Jersey. Today he still maintains ownership and management of Forsgate Industrial Complex and has cultivated its reputation as the East Coast's premiere industrial park consisting of almost seven million square feet.

Throughout this career, Charles Klatskin has received numerous awards for his work. In 2000, he was the recipient of Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award, for outstanding achievements and visionary leadership in real estate.

In 1999, he received the Leadership Excellence Award from the Real Estate Institute of Monmouth University, and in 1997 was recipient of the New Jersey Society of Industrial and Office Realtor's Deal of the Year Award for the largest co-brokered deal.

In addition to his real estate ventures, Charles Klatskin is a popular lecturer and has spoken at The Wharton Graduate School of Finance, Ohio State University's Fisher School of Business, The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. He has also shared his expertise with students of Fairleigh Dickinson University's George Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies and the New York University Entrepreneurial Center.

His philanthropic activities include the Jewish Community Center on the Palisades in Tenafly, N.J.; Englewood Hospital, Englewood, N.J.; Board of Directors; Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, N.J.; Tomorrow's Children Foundation; City of Tenafly, N.J.; Former Chairman of the Construction Board of Appeal; Jewish Community Center on the Palisades, Tenafly; Past President, Past Chairman of the Construction Trustees and Present Building Chairman; Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, Rockleigh, N.J.; Board of Trustees; Temple Emanuel, Englewood; Board of Governors and Board of Directors.
